We prepare student athletes to make ethical and moral choices in everyday life through involvement in competitive sports. We are a strong advocate of core values, and implement teamwork, discipline, respect, and self-control. We at the Mexica Center vow to do our best to attain and maintain competitive excellence in both education and sports. Our mentorship program improves the academic achievement, self-esteem, social competence, and avoidance of problematic/high-risk behaviors by providing a relationship with our specially trained coaches and staff.
Mariana Lopez is a prime example of what we strive for.
Mariana comes from an under-privileged community, and single-parent home. Through it all, she trusted our program and worked hard to overcome all odds. After four years, she completed High School and earned a spot on the USA Youth Boxing team and a place in the World Class Athlete Program (WCAP). She is currently in the midst of a four-year commitment with the team and is now living her dream - boxing, traveling the world, and beating all odds.
"If it wasn't for Aj, I'm not 100% sure where I'd be right now, but [I know] I didn't want to end up being what I grew up with."
